Miss India

I have not eaten indian food for quite some time and i was craving for it today. There is this restaurant near my university called Miss India which is like an india fast food restaurant. I went there for dinner tonight. The dish that i ordered was rice with papadum, vegetable curry, dahl and lamb vindaloo. It was really nice and i enjoyed my dinner. It kind of reminded me about the indian food i used to eat back home. For this dish i gave a 8.5 out of 10.

Just a photo of what i had for dinner today......... Linguine in tomato sauce with sausages, bacon and mushrooms. Enjoy XD hehe....

I'll be emphasizing on the sweet chilli prawns. It's delicious and it's also an easy dish to cook.

Ingredients:

1. 250 grams of prawns without shell

2. A packet of easy mix batter (batter depends on individual's taste)

3. Half cup of rice flour

4. One onion diced

5. 2 tbs of butter

6. 1/4 cup of sweet chilli sauce

Steps:

1. Mix the easy mix batter with water ( follow instructions on the packet).

2. Coat the prawns with rice flour.

3. Toss coted prawns into the batter mix.

4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns till golden brown.

5. Prepare the sauce while leaving the prawns to cool aside.

6. For the sauce, melt the butter in heated pan.

7. Then add onions into the pan. Stir onions around untill fragrant (1-2 minutes).

8. After that, add the chilli sauce. Stir sauce for about a few minutes then turn off the heat.

9. Tossed the prawns that were fried earlier into the pan, and mix it well.

10. Plate it up and ready to be served.

(salt and sugar were not included as the sweet chilli sauce did the job)

On the 20th of May (Friday), i cooked up some dinner for a bunch of my unimates. I made simple chinese home cooked dishes. Nothing too fancy about it, just to fill the tummies of my hungry mates. In the photo (clockwise from bottom left), there is stewed pork belly, chinese sausage omelet and sweet chilli prawns.

Nudos

Went to Nudos few days ago which is a restaurant in the city serving mostly malaysian food. I had dinner there with a couple of my friends. Looking through the menu was quite interesting as the pictures were quite nice. After deciding i ordered malaysian fried noodles (mee goreng). Suprisingly the food was quite good. The mee goreng tasted like the ones served in the mamak stalls in malaysia. The only difference about it was that it had capsicum and char siew in it which you can't get it in any of the mamak stalls. I gave a 7 out of 10 rating for this dish.

It's my first blog and basically what this blog is going to be about is food. 80% of the time will be me judging and criticising food served outside based on my opinion and 20% of the time will be about my cooking. I love food. Food is my passion, my life. XD
